Every year, DS2 participates in a Fall beach cleanup to remove litter from our beautiful sugar-sand beaches and say goodbye to Summer! This year, we packed up our trash bags, trash grabbers, buckets, & gloves and headed to the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. DS2 volunteers soaked up some sun while removing an entire trashcan’s worth of rubbish from the shoreline.
DS2 recently completed migration to version 2.0 of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and was appraised at CMMI Level 3.0 in a recent benchmark appraisal. Version 2.0 focused its attention to performance practices and a focus on process improvement through repeatability and practice. We are passionate about creating quality products and services while improving customer satisfaction utilizing agile principles.
DS2 geared up for STEM education this past Saturday by hosting a Game Changers event with the HSU Educational Foundation. The Game Changers is a program that provides interactive, shared science and technology events for local families to inspire and encourage critical thinking and problem solving within the STEM community. Business and educational opportunities such as these sparks conversations among family members and provides an avenue for participants to apply educational principles to real world applications. DS2 was proud to take part in an event this year for the chance to excite kids about the wonderful world of programming! With the help of DS2 team members, Game-changers experienced hands-on activities learning about robotics, the Unity game engine, VR, and Android development.
DS2 proudly sponsored TecMEN for this year’s TecMEN Industry Day, an event dedicated to discussing technology, networking with fellow industries, and promoting economic growth in the Panhandle. This event featured both local and national businesses with speaker symposiums to foster communication, growth, and advancement within our local technology-based community. Workshops highlighted topics on Cultivating Talents Through Apprenticeships and Understanding Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), and proceeds from the function supported the Economic Development Council of Okaloosa County.
Every year in March, the DS2 team hosts a canned food drive within the company to provide for our local neighborhoods through donation to Sharing & Caring of Okaloosa County. This amazing charity provides financial and food assistance to local families in need, and with the increase in unemployment from the COVID-19 pandemic, their services are vital to our community.
