Every year in March, the DS2 team hosts a canned food drive within the company to provide for our local neighborhoods through donation to Sharing & Caring of Okaloosa County. This amazing charity provides financial and food assistance to local families in need, and with the increase in unemployment from the COVID-19 pandemic, their services are vital to our community.
DS2’s goal for this year’s drive was to focus on foods that were highly-requested by local food banks, and the team had fun gathering over 200 essentials for Sharing & Caring! Over the month of March, our employees donated 133 cans and 92 non-perishable foods. Items were dropped off directly to Sharing & Caring in Niceville, and though the associated Hunger Run 5K was cancelled this year due to inclement weather, all proceeds went to the foundation.
Giving back to our community is an important aspect at DS2. We work hard to achieve this through our core values, and we believe building a stronger community is the right thing to do. We are currently growing our Kindness Works program to continue to exemplify these values every day, so be on the lookout for more exciting things to come!

DS2 is passionate about furthering the education and skills of our team. Last week, nearly the entire development team at DS2 attended a 2-day group training focusing on React skills. Lead by web development guru, Brad Westfall of React Training, who has been teaching web development for over a decade, this two-day workshop covered React proficiency through guided lectures and project-based learning.
