The DS2 Team gives back during the 2019 Earth Day Beach Clean-Up!
The DS2 Team was proud to be a part of this year's Earth Day Beach Clean-Up sponsored by the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. The event was a family-friendly event that included prizes for the most cigarette butts collected (who had to count those butts) and included informational sessions provided by the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance.
We had a wonderful turnout and collected so much from the beaches. Another fabulous effort in partnership with United Way, Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance, and Florida's Emerald Coast, and funded by the S.E.A. Campaign.
Each Earth Day, Team DS2 gets together to clean a section of our local beaches. This year, our volunteers participated in a beach clean-up event hosted by Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles which took place in Destin, FL where our volunteers combed the shoreline filling trash bags with litter left on our beaches and tangled in the dunes
Every year, DS2 participates in a Fall beach cleanup to remove litter from our beautiful sugar-sand beaches and say goodbye to Summer! This year, we packed up our trash bags, trash grabbers, buckets, & gloves and headed to the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. DS2 volunteers soaked up some sun while removing an entire trashcan’s worth of rubbish from the shoreline.
The DS2 Team was happy to support the 2019 IRONMAN Florida in Panama City Beach by volunteering to hand out water, Gatorade, and snacks to the participants.
Another great company outing for the books! DS2 and family participated in the Son of a Beach 5k benefitting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation in memory of the crew of RATCHET 33.
DS2 is a proud supporter of the 2019 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) hosted by Congressman Matt Gaetz at the STEM/Cyber Security Expo held on the University of West Florida Pensacola Campus. DS2 travelled to the 2019 CAC, where DS2's Vice President Richard Pruitt participated as a volunteer judge.
DS2 attended the 2019 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando to learn more about the cutting edge of simulation and training technology.
