Every year, DS2 participates in a Fall beach cleanup to remove litter from our beautiful sugar-sand beaches and say goodbye to Summer! This year, we packed up our trash bags, trash grabbers, buckets, & gloves and headed to the Boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. DS2 volunteers soaked up some sun while removing an entire trashcan’s worth of rubbish from the shoreline.
If you would like to get involved in a similar beach cleanup, reach out to one of our local conservation groups like the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance or the Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles to see when their next cleanup events are or just grab a trash bag and a pair of gloves and hit the beach yourself! Join the web of volunteers to keep our beaches clean and our wildlife safe.
