Throughout the months of March & April, members of DS2 collected and donated goods that are needed and essential to the Sharing & Caring Niceville operation, including canned goods, dry goods, and monetary funds. Sharing & Caring of Niceville is a non-profit organization that provides food, essential items, and assistance to families in need in the Niceville, Valparaiso, and Choctaw Bay communities.
The canned food drive is a DS2 annual tradition and is a part of our Kindness Works Program. This program has grown and grown, year after year, and symbolizes DS2’s passion in giving back to our community. DS2 is proud to have been founded in the Niceville area and continues to call Niceville home.
DS2 believes that building a stronger community is the right thing to do and through events such as our annual canned food drives, volunteer beach clean-ups, and sponsorships of local businesses and organizations, DS2 is able to contribute to the community and show that “Kindness Works”! Shoutout to our DS2 team for making this Kindness Works event a success and we are looking forward to our next community event.
Every year in March, the DS2 team hosts a canned food drive within the company to provide for our local neighborhoods through donation to Sharing & Caring of Okaloosa County. This amazing charity provides financial and food assistance to local families in need, and with the increase in unemployment from the COVID-19 pandemic, their services are vital to our community.
DS2 proudly sponsors and participates in the Hunger Run 5k, hosted by Bluewater Fitness, held on April 30, 2022. This year, the theme was “Sock it to Hunger”, encouraging race participants to wear wild and crazy socks in celebration.
