DS2 is honored to partner with the Department of Defense through the SkillBridge program—an initiative that empowers service members to gain hands-on civilian work experience during their final 180 days of active duty. Through industry training, apprenticeships, and internships, participants explore new career paths and build valuable skills for life after service.
We value the dedication and experience that transitioning service members bring to the civilian workforce. Our partnership with SkillBridge allows us to connect with talented veterans whose background aligns with DS2’s mission to continually support the warfighter through technical innovation. Being able to support our veterans transition from military service to a commercial career is both a privilege and an honor.
We’ve been able to host SkillBridge participants in roles such as Project Manager, Software Engineer, and Financial Analyst at DS2. The experiences have been mutually beneficial: our teams benefit from their customer perspective and the expertise they bring, while the participants gain experience as a DoD contractor, strengthen their resumes, and learn about the various job functions required to be successful in our industry. As part of our on-boarding we let them shadow various jobs to give them an overview of our process, from business development, contracting, and project management all the way to sitting on our DevSecOps teams. Our Skillbridge participants have either been hired directly with us or have been hired by other contractors here in the community.
