We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates from our Software Development team. Over the past few months, they’ve been hard at work on a couple of internal projects, and we’re excited to showcase our progress.
TAKX Integration with GeoExPT
First up is a new plugin for TAKX that allows users to park aircraft using the parking engine from the Geospatial Expeditionary Planning Tool (GeoExPT). TAKX is the latest desktop solution from the Team Awareness Kit (TAK) ecosystem, a suite of georeferenced imagery and communications tools that enable scaled operational planning, data sharing, visualized elevation data, and target management.
Key Features of TAKX:
Robust Moving Map: Provides situational awareness integration with other TAK products like Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) and TAK Server.
Cross-Platform Support: Available for both Linux and Windows environments.
Key Features of GeoExPT:
Decision Support: Helps mission planners and engineers create geospatially accurate base layout plans, meet beddown requirements, automate aircraft parking, and analyze and repair airfield damage.
Developed as plugin for AutoCAD: Loads into AutoCAD Map3D and Civil, offering decision support tools in the robust 2D drafting and 3D modeling CAD products familiar to the Air Force Civil Engineering Career Field.
Integration Highlights:
Manual and Automatic Parking: Users can create parking plans manually or automatically, or with mixed airframes on any parking apron using the GeoExPT Aircraft Parking Service.
Extensible Architecture: TAKX’s plugin architecture allows for extending aircraft parking capabilities to new client applications.
As you can see, we’re leveraging and exposing the aircraft parking power built in GeoExPT to pave the way for various frontends and form factors to take advantage of this powerful GIS capability.
